2015 LOS ANGELES BOOK FESTIVAL WINNERS

LOS ANGELES BOOK FESTIVAL AWARDS “THE GLITTER PLAN” TOP HONORS

LOS ANGELES_ The story of how a business started in a local apartment for $200 became one of the world’s best known clothing brands has won the top honor at the 2015 Los Angeles Book Festival.

“The Glitter Plan” by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor with Booth Moore (Gotham Books) tells the story of Juicy Couture, which established a new category of California cool in contemporary women’s clothing. The book tells of the entrepreneurial spirit of the two women, who used what they called “The Glitter Plan”: come up with clothing they knew women would want to wear and finding unique ways to reach them.

The entrepreneurial saga is an aspirational and inspiriing look at the fun of building a multi-million dollar business, and is the perfect choice for honors during the DIY Convention weekend events.

Skaist-Levy and Nash-Taylor will be honored at a private awards reception on March 7 at the Roosevelt Hotel.
